Shakespeare On The Green reaches its 400,000th attendee.

Robert (Bob) Bennett was the lucky 400,000th attendee to Shakespeare On The Green!

On Friday, July 6, 2012, Nebraska Shakespeare was thrilled to announce the Bennett Family, in particular Bob, with wife Denise and Sam (wearing the commemorative jersey T-shirt), the 400,000th attendee to Shakespeare On The Green.

Vincent Carlson-Brown, Associate Artistic Director, introduced the Bennett Family to the over 1,300 in attendance.
"There are very few free Shakespeare theaters left in the country. The cost for a ticket to a Shakespeare performance averages $25 per person. If we charged $25 for each of the 400,000 who have joined us On the Green = the total would be $10,000,000. With the help of donations from our sponsors, patrons and guests like those of you here this evening we celebrate our ability to offer our 400,000th “free ticket” - for a gift to the community valued at $10,000,000!"
Bob Bennett received a Certificate of Life-Long Bard privileges to Shakespeare On The Green which included VIP reserved parking and seating.

To commemorate the event, the audience participated in a release of 400 green balloons (one per each 1000th On The Green attendee).
