Camp Shakespeare Staff 2017!

Nebraska Shakespeare is so pleased to announce our Camp Shakespeare Staff 2017.  These professional theatre educators will be engaging with 75 young campers during our two-week summer camp (June 26th- July 9th) to create their own Shakespeare productions and inspire a life-long love of theatre and performance.

Camp Shakespeare Director- Katie Otten

Katie is joining Camp Shakespeare for the first time this summer, but she is no stranger to theatre education, having worked with Omaha Theatre Company, First Stage Theatre Company, and West Bend Recreational Department in WI. Katie is also Nebraska Shakespeare's Company Events Coordinator for Shakespeare On The Green this season. Katie is currently pursuing a Master's in Theatre Performance from University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Camp Shakespeare Assistant - Anna Jordan

Anna Jordan is joining Camp Shakespeare staff for her second year. Anna is a seasoned Nebraska Shakespeare veteran, having worked as an actor for Two Minute Shakespeare, Shakespeare On The Green, and Shakespeare On Tour. Anna is also an actor/educator for R.E.S.P.E.C.T. and OPA's Disney Musicals in Schools program. She is also the Assistant Director for Shakespeare On The Green's The Merry Wives of Windsor this summer. Anna holds her BA in Theatre Performance/Directing from University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Jester's Instructor- Raydell Cordell III

Camp Shakespeare is thrilled to have Raydell's classroom energy and expertise for the fourth summer in a row. Raydell has performed with Shakespeare On The Green for countless seasons and will be a company member for King Lear and The Merry Wives of Windsor this summer. Raydell currently works as the Site Director of Loveland Before and After School and has worked with Westside School District for nine years. He hold a BA in Theatre Performance from University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Jester's Assistant- Chase Winter

Chase is joining Camp Shakespeare for his second season. Chase works with Concordia Senior High School as a Language Arts teacher (English, Speech, Journalism, and Yearbook.) He also works with the school's Speech Team and One Act play production. Chase holds his Bachelor’s Education with a English/Language Arts focus.

Apprentices Instructor- Katy Kepler

Katy began her theater career in Rochester, NY, as freelance stage manager (primarily LORT B non-equity ASM work) and director. She recently moved to Omaha, NE to work with the Omaha Theater Company as a teaching artist. She specializes in directing youth actors and has particularly enjoyed her time working as the Apprentice Program Director for Bristol Valley Theater in the Finger Lakes. Favorite directing projects include Bride and Groom in the Graveyard (world premiere), Drowned (staged reading, new work), and Saturday Afternoon: Live! (devised youth piece). As an actor, she has appeared in several shows with the Omaha Theater Company, including Stellaluna and Other TalesPrancer (world premiere), Mouse on the MoveElephant and Piggie's We Are in a Play, and A Pallette of Possibility  (world premiere). Other favorite roles include Electra in Orestes 2.0, the Director in Crocodile Fear (world premiere), and Cedar in The Turtle Play: The Play About the Turtle (workshop performance).

Players Instructor- Chloe Armao

Chloe is joining Camp Shakespeare for her second season as the Player's Instructor, but she has worked with Shakespeare On Tour for the past three seasons. Chloe graduated from University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program and continues to work as a contract actor/educator with The Guthrie Theatre, The Playwright’s Center, The Youth Performance Company and The Children’s Theater Company. Chloe will also be in the Shakespeare On The Green cast of King Lear and The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Masterclasses and Workshops will also be presented by members of the Shakespeare On The Green company, helping Camp Shakespeare students explore a variety of theatre topics, including: 
Stage Combat, Character Physicality and Development, and Designer Process.
