Nebraska Shakespeare announces new Interim Artistic Director and new Director of Education

Nebraska Shakespeare is pleased to announce that Vincent Carlson-Brown has been named Interim Artistic Director. Vincent will guide the artistic development of Nebraska Shakespeare this coming year and Sarah Carlson-Brown has been named Director Of Education. 

This year will mark Vincent's 14th season with Nebraska Shakespeare, appearing in sixteen productions On the Green, and in the first five years of Nebraska Shakespeare On Tour. Vincent has also served as fight director for three seasons in addition to directing Much Ado About Nothing (On Tour), Julius Caesar (On Tour), and, the On The Green production of The Comedy of Errors in 2012 Vincent is proud to have worked as security; carpenter; sound designer; assistant director; Camp Shakespeare Instructor; Road Manager; and producer, director, actor and fight choreographer for Music Alive!, a Nebraska Shakespeare collaboration with the Omaha Symphony. In 2011, Vincent was brought onto the staff as Associate Artistic Director. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2004. Vincent has toured with Utah Shakespeare, Nebraska Theatre Caravan, and the Great Plains Theatre Conference. In addition to working professionally as an actor (most recently in the Bootleg Shakespeare! production of King John at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC with the Taffety Punk Theatre Company), Vincent is a fight director and guest artist for Omaha area high schools, community theaters, and universities. Vincent is excited to begin the next steps with Nebraska Shakespeare and looks forward to many seasons to come.

Sarah will focus on Nebraska Shakespeare's year-round education programming: Music Alive!, Shakespeare On The Silverscreen, The Anne Dittrick Sonnet Writing Contest, Camp Shakespeare, On The Green Shakesperience, Scholars Forum, and Nebraska Shakespeare's Annual On Tour production. Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. This is her 12th year working with Nebraska Shakespeare, where her passion expanded from her performing opportunities into education programming. She has worked with Utah Shakespeare (Twelfth Night), Taffety Punk's King John at Washington DC's Folger Theatre, Nebraska Theatre Caravan (A Christmas Carol/Company Manager), eleven productions for Nebraska Shakespeare On The Green, and six production for Nebraska Shakespeare On Tour. Sarah also works as an actor and instructor with numerous regional theatres, community theatres, and local schools. Outside of performance, Sarah's education responsibilities have included: Camp Shakespeare instructor, Shakespeare Unbound educator, Scholars Forum moderator, On Tour booking agent, On Tour road manager, On Tour workshop instructor. Sarah is committed to the local theatre and arts organizations in Omaha and is excited to continue her professional work with Nebraska Shakespeare.
