Meet the Cast of Othello for the 14th annual season of Shakespeare On Tour!

This season's Othello will be the first time we take this play on the road as a part of Shakespeare On Tour, and we couldn't be more excited to share this challenging story across the region. Let's meet the cast!




Sam Cheeseman | Cassio


Sam is a classically trained graduate of the University of Northern Colorado currently residing in Chicago, Illinois. Chicago credits include Hamlet in Hamlet and Sir Andrew in Twelfth Night (Midsommer Flight), Dumain in Love’s Labours Lost (Invictus Theater Co.), Bottom/Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shakespeare All-Stars) as well as others. Sam has worked in schools bringing Shakespeare to students in Chicago and is excited for the opportunity to do it across Nebraska. He sends all his love to Bianca, as well as his family in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Minnesota, and the UK.


Hannah Clark | Brabantio and Gratiano


Hannah earned a BA in English and theatre from Chadron State College, and has just graduated from Creighton's MFA program in writing with aspirations to teach Shakespeare and poetry. She's overjoyed to be returning for her second season with the company and is excited to tour Nebraska this Fall, teaching and learning with her fellow artists.

Katie Becker Colon | Iago



Katie is originally from Topeka, KS and recently moved to Omaha to serve as Director of Education for Nebraska Shakespeare. In addition to her work with Nebraska Shakespeare, her acting credits include: Love’s Labour’s Lost, Twelfth Night, The Drunken City, and Julius Caesar for Duke City Repertory; Frosty for Barter Encore Players/TheatreWorks USA; and The Borrowers for The Rose Theatre.


Roshni Desai | Othello


Roshni is from Novi, Michigan and just graduated from the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program Class of 2019. This is her first year at Nebraska Shakespeare and she is so delighted to be working with all of these talented people. She is so excited by Nebraska Shakespeare’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in Shakespeare and can't wait to share new perspectives and hopefully gain a few more.

Anna Jordan | Roderiga and Bianca


Anna has appeared in the On Tour production of As You Like It, A Midsummer Night’s Dream—a collaboration with the Omaha Symphony—and served in various roles for multiple seasons On The Green. Anna is currently a Disney Musicals in Schools teaching artist with Omaha Performing Arts. Recent acting credits include Van Gogh and Me (Adeline Ravoux), Curious George and the Golden Meatball (George) at The Rose Theater; I and You (Caroline) and The Strangemen Theatre Company’s The Woodsman (Nimmee) at BLUEBARN Theatre.


Bianca Phipps | Emilia


Bianca is a queer Latinx actor, poet, and teaching artist who is thrilled to be returning to Nebraska Shakespeare On Tour! Previous NS roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Lysandre/Snug in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Antony in Juno's Swans' Julius Caesar. She is currently based in Chicago, IL. She would like to thank the cast & crew for their bravery and care, and sends her love to Sam and Lady Catelyn.

 

Henry Ragan | Desdemonan

'This is Henry’s first season with Nebraska Shakespeare, appearing this summer as Horatio in Hamlet. His other regional credits include The New Harmony Project, People's Light Theatre, Capital Fringe Festival, Shawnee Summer Theatre. Henry received his MFA from Penn State University and his BFA from the University of Evansville.



Shaan Sharma | Lodovico and Duke of Venice

Shaan graduated in 2015 from The College of William & Mary with a double major in Physics and Theatre. He has most recently been seen at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA with roles including Pip in Great Expectations and Johnse in Sally McCoy. Preceding that, he spent two years with the theatre’s young audiences outfit, the Barter Players. Other recent roles include Silvio in Servant of Two Masters (Colonial Williamsburg) and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Virginia Shakespeare Festival). Shaan would like to thank the Player company, his family, and his wonderful girlfriend for their unending love and support.
